My name is Lara and I first saw the Flaming Lips at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley. It was my first exposure to the group and I was literally moved to tears. I felt there was a sense of enlightenment about thier lyrics and great fun in their music. I was an immediate fan! Recently, on Dec 30th I saw them at the Bill Grahm Civic Center. The accustics at that place sucks. It's hard to fill that room with sound and not have it echo. But, when the Lips came on the stage and played thier music, I felt as if every molecule of air resonated with thier sound and was wonderfully harmonious in that special Flaming Lips kind of way. They were so great!
During the second set, a girl named Heather passed out just beyond the front of the stage. Wayne Coyne stopped the show to make sure she got the special attention she needed. He later told us that she was dehydrated and was going to be okay. It was so beautiful to experience this compassion and concern for a fan, especially from the lead singer. I love The Flaming Lips!!!

Tue, January 9, 2007 - 7:36 PMthe best place i've seen them in the Bay are the times they played the Maritime Hall. Visuals overload, balcony seating, good sound, and a no-hassle security force when it came to toking.. it was the perfect spot for the Lips.
i'm not even sure if they have shows there anymore. kind of out of the loop these days.

Mon, January 15, 2007 - 2:06 PMLots of people from all over making the trek there by themselves. It was like a meeting place for all sorts of people on different paths. Like a travelling circus just stopping by in an old trade town. Very nice year wrap up. So much love there.
