I thought I should[finally] join this tribe......after digging on their new cd for about a week now and seeing "the Fearless Freaks" movie.....well, I think the FL's are the most important band in America right now.......they manage brilliantly to be goofy and profound at the same time..........love the production on "Mystics".........

Fri, August 4, 2006 - 3:43 PMI feel your pain, I too have fallen victim to the LIPS! What great performers, if you've not experienced them live you should. We seen them in Bend, OR last May and was happy to drive 8 hrs to see them again in Berkeley. They are brilliant; the show is a sight and sound emersion that any music lover would love.

I too am feeling the effects of Lips obsession. I went to my first concert last week and just can't keep the tunes outa' my head. The cool thing is that I went into this summer thinking that the "Lips Experience" was all about drugs and costuming and freaky-ass music. But after having been to a show, and having seen "Fearless Freaks", and chatting with some of the fine folks on this tribe, I thinI finally get it. Sure, the theatrics are part of what define the band, but much deeper down lies the music. Confetti, singing puppets, dancing Santa's ... the more the better!! But I'm now just as content to have "Yoshimi" on my iPod as I walk around the park by myself.
Well ... maybe not "just as content" as a show, but you get my point. : )
